- White granular or powder with density of 0.35-0.90 g/cm³ and melting point of 622°C
- Easily soluble in water with alkaline aqueous solution (pH 9.7 for 1% solution)
- Gradually hydrolyzes into phosphite in water with excellent metal ion complexation ability
- Forms soluble complexes with calcium, magnesium, iron and other metal ions
