Product Description
Industrial Grade 99% Barium Chloride (BaCl₂) white crystal for fabric dyeing and industrial applications.
Physical Properties
- Appearance: Colorless or white crystalline solid
- Molecular weight: 244.26 g/mol (BaCl₂·2H₂O)
- Density: 3.097 g/cm³ (25°C)
- Melting point: ~120°C (loss of crystal water), anhydrous form melts at 962°C
- Solubility: Soluble in water (37 g/100 mL at 20°C), increases with temperature
- Hygroscopicity: Dihydrate form is stable in air; anhydrous form is strongly hygroscopic
Chemical Properties
- Stability: Stable at room temperature; loses crystal water at ~120°C
- Acid-alkaline: Aqueous solution is neutral
- Reactivity: Forms precipitates with sulfate (BaSO₄), chromate (BaCrO₄), and carbonate (BaCO₃) ions
