Agricultural grade potassium dihydrogen phosphate (KH₂PO₄) is
a commonly used high-efficiency fertilizer that has the following physical properties:
1: Appearance
Form: Usually white or colorless crystalline powder or particle.
Transparency: The crystal is transparent or translucent.
2. Solubility
Water soluble: easily soluble in water, solubility increases with temperature.
At 20°C, about 22.6 grams can be dissolved per 100 ml of water.
Other solvents: slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble.
3. Density
Density: about 2.338 g/cm³.
4. Melting point
Melting point: approximately 252.6°C (decomposition).
5. pH value
pH value: The pH value of 1% aqueous solution is about 4.5, which is weakly acidic.
6. Hygroscopicity
Hygroscopicity: It has certain hygroscopicity and needs to be stored in a dry environment.
7: Stability
Thermal stability: When heated above the melting point, it decomposes, forming potassium metaphosphate (KPO₃)
and water (H₂O).
Chemical stability: It is chemically stable at room temperature and is not easy to react with most substances.
