Performance Characteristics
- White granular or powder, showing a density of 0.35-0.90G/CM3, melting point 622°C
- Easily soluble in water, the aqueous solution is alkaline (PH of 1% aqueous solution is 9.7)
- Gradually hydrolyzed into phosphite in water
- Excellent metal complexation ability - can complex with calcium, magnesium, iron and other metal ions to produce soluble complexes

- Functions as an inorganic surfactant with some properties of organic surfactants

1. Detergent Industry (Core Uses)
- When compounded with surfactants (such as LAS), enhances decontamination power and prevents redeposition of dirt
- Softens hard water by chelating Ca²⁺ and Mg²⁺, enhancing washing effect
- Alternative technologies for phosphorus-free detergents exist due to environmental restrictions (eutrophication), but still widely used in industrial cleaning agents
2. Food Processing (Food-grade STPP)
- Moisture retention agent for meat and seafood (ham, fish balls) to enhance water retention and improve taste
- Inhibits fat oxidation to extend shelf life
- Quality improver - enhances elasticity in noodles and canned food, prevents starch from aging
3. Industrial Water Treatment
- Water softener and scale inhibitor for boiler water and circulating cooling water systems
- Prevents Ca/Mg scaling and chelates metal ions (Fe³⁺, Cu²⁺) to reduce pipeline corrosion
