Application of Thiourea in chemical industry
1. Metal surface treatment and plating
Plating additives:
As a brightener or leveling agent, it is used in silver plating, gold plating,
zinc plating and other processes to improve the uniformity and gloss of the coating.
In acid copper plating, thiourea can inhibit the precipitation of copper ions and improve the binding force of the coating.
Metal corrosion inhibitor:
It is added to the pickling solution (such as hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid)
to slow the corrosion rate of metals (steel, copper).
Combined with corrosion inhibitors (such as ulotropine) to enhance the protective effect.
2. Rubber and plastics industry
Vulcanization accelerator:
As a precursor of secondary sulfonamide accelerators, it accelerates rubber vulcanization process
and improves cross-linking efficiency.
Suitable for natural rubber and synthetic rubber (such as styrene butadiene rubber, neoprene rubber).
Plastic stabilizer:
Used in plastics such as PVC to inhibit thermal degradation and oxidation during processing.
3. Synthesis of medicine and pesticides
