- Colorless acicular hexagonal crystal system
- Soluble in water, insoluble in organic solvents

- Melting point 73.3-76.7°C (decomposition)
- When weathered in dry air, 12 crystalline waters are lost at 100°C to form anhydrous substances (Na3PO4)
